Review: You squint your eyes against the gritty darkness of the alley. A homeless man stirs
in a box to your left, and you can make out the shape of a woman (a hooker, perhaps?) leaning against the back of Lou's bar. You step hesitantly
out of the shadows and enter through the back door of Lou's, a dirty bar that is largely empty, but for one man leaning back in his chair and a
blonde drinking tequila at the bar. You wander through to the front entrance, out to the street - you notice a policeman harassing a criminal, a
girl crying near the bus stop, and a group of thugs armed with baseball bats and brass knuckles roaming near an empty
warehouse.
Where are you? Hathian. The Crack Den Sim is a refuge for all that seek and revel in the gritty urban grunge life. With role
play choices of everything from an intern at the hospital to a gang member to a bartender to fireman to a pole dancer, and many more (some 30
roles in all)- The Crack Den is a role player's dream.
The Crack Den sims(there are three - Voudou, Hathian, and District 8) are low lag (Class 5 servers!), quick to rez, and always
full of action. There are riots, fires, break-ins - not to mention the "normal" day to day illegal activities that come with the territory.
They're very well designed, with a working web of streets, an underground area, at least 60-100 buildings able to be explored full of elaborate
detail, and businesses (like Lou's, the Titty Twister, the Clam, and more). There's even a full website (thecrackden.com) with forums, and a
flickr group to upload your screen shots of the interesting goings-on.
Conclusion: If you want urban role play - The Crack Den should be your first stop.
