Second Life Review
Review Help
Have you tried to get your Second Life Review published and not had any luck?
Here is some extra help in making your Second Life Reviews more appealing to us.
Submissions should be about 200 to 400 words long. Since they are so short you should get straight to the point. Start off
with a sentence or two that highlights exactly what can be found at the location you are reviewing (e. g.- This store was recommended to me
as a good place to buy skins.) Show some pizzazz in your submission, use humour. Make it exciting and interesting to read, something that
grabs attention. Talk to your readers on an equal level. Use a tone that makes them feel you are talking directly to them, almost in a
conversation. We want the website and reviews to have a real community feel.
These are a few questions to help you come up with a good review. They are not every question you might address in your review nor
will they all apply for your particular review. Use them as a guide: What is this place and why is it good/bad etc? What is its purpose?
What is there? What does it look like? Was it recommended by someone or is there hype about it? Is it busy and is that a good or bad thing
in this case? Does it rez quickly? Is it laggy? Is it organized? Is it easy to find things? Is it neat or cluttered? Is it missing
anything? Is there anything to criticize? (Even in a great review some constructive criticism is good--it sometimes even adds credibility
to your review.) Does it have a lot of things for sale? Does it have a good variety and seem to have new stuff? Are the prices fair? Are
the products well designed? Do they have anything special? Do they have freebies and are they any good? Are the people nice, friendly or
helpful. Is it a nice place to hang out? Does it deliver what it promises? Is the music good? Do they have a group/web page? What is your
over all opinion of the place?
What locations should you review? The best way to choose your location is to choose a place you frequent. If you enjoy
hanging out or shopping there, its probably a great location that we would like to let people know about.
We really want photos with reviews. Try to get a good shot of the location. Make sure it captures the essence of the place. It
should not be too far away. It should get a good view of some of the things that make the place great. Make sure everything is rezzed
properly--no grey or fuzzy or half-missing objects. If you aren't good at photo taking try asking the business owner. They may co-operate
and provide a photo. Or try imitating any photo the business owner has for their location if it looks good. Photos must be in Jpeg
format ( .jpg ) and 640x480. Due to the large volume of submissions we will not publish reviews submitted without photos or with
photos in the wrong size or format.
Feel free to send us a short bio and picture of your AV along with your reviews. If we like your writing and use your reviews a
lot we will add you to our About Us page as a frequent reviewer.
