Review: The RaceSL race series have a White's Bikes superbike, powered MotoSL and Formula One style
FormulaSL series at a few of the premier race tracks. These vehicles use the most advanced race scripts, to date, in SL. Mooz!, PSU 1099, and
Snowpeach sims are used for both MotoSL and FormulaSL series.
Hit the grass and loose traction. Hit another car and you take damage that leads to wheels flying off and fire. Misjudge the amount of pit stops
to use or don't change gears at the right time and loose your position. Try the cars at mooz! for free by clicking the rezzer and if you are
up to the challenge you can participate in raceSL races.
Jafo Tendaze, last seasons MotoSL champ, had one word of advice... "Practice". He seems right and as you need to learn: to keep and eye on
the RPM based shift guide on the HUD, when to take pit stops, to avoid damaging the car, to stay of the grass, to keep traction and
many other speed reducing hazards will keep you busy! As your fingers get sore at the keyboard you will look forward to the other aspects of the
sport such as: looking for sponsors, scouting drivers to team with, or trying to impress a team to join. Maybe you just want to manage
a team if you are a fan with no ability or will to race. No money? Then practice and win in the beginning of the season to pay for car and
graphics etc.
The RaceSL participants lead by White's Bikes' Les White have worked together to make a great series. Fun is the main attraction but it is
more of a commitment if you choose to make a team and get a sponsor. This may not be as fun for some and it is not
necessary at all to participate. You can drive at the season start for MotoSL and/or FormulaSL using cars from the rezzer to get some recognition
and join a team (3 per team)or win a few and buy a car with the winnings. You can go to RaceSL.com website for info.
Events, unfortunately due to sim crash issues, don't usually allow spectators. They have many teams and 20+ drivers with team members
are usually present. De-scripting avatar's is a must, even when the sim is open to the public between races, though not always enforced.
Overall this is a more challenging race series than others with more of a commitment possible.
Conclusion: Just hang out and test cars for fun or get involved with
a team, fun for any level of commitment.
