Review: Looking for someplace unique to visit in
SL? It is hard to capture in words what Surreal Numbers has created at Over The Rainbow. At its most basic level it is his vision of a
peaceful and beautiful world. But that description doesn't convey the stimulating visual beauty of this location. The seven continents have been
recreated and infused with colors, textures and photos. Giant charts throughout explain the regions that are available for viewing and offer
teleports to each.
A recent tour with Numbers started in Mexico, which we arrived at via a teleport
to a plaza facing an adobe structure. The rich colors of terracotta, Mexican textiles and pottery repeated through the space. From there we went
to the Amazon. Camera angles were tight but the build really does give you the feel of being surrounded by untouched tropical jungle. Asia was
next, with its pagodas and tranquil gardens. Visitors should search for the surprise garden hidden within. There are many treasures to be found
on site: The Egyptian pyramid, glistening as it would have in its glory years has a dance floor inside which is big enough for use for a special
event. You don't have to stay above ground to enjoy the site, as Numbers has also created an underwater performance venue. Take note Merpeople,
this is a site you may want to check out for special events. Numbers continues to build and improve upon the site. The Antarctic region is still
developing in his mind, but its sure to be fantastic as well.
Of course, the best feature, to some, is the rainbow bridge that encircles the
sim. You can actually stand on it and view the entire build from sky level. There's also a location which contains a shop, in case you want to
pick up a rug or a vase with one of the textures you fell in love with while visiting. There is so much to see and do here you may need to come
more than once. An automated tour guide is in the process of being developed. In the meantime, hopefully Numbers will develop a note card
with suggestions for how to view the place. Avatars who do not move well in tight spaces may feel a little claustrophobic in certain places but,
struggle through it. Your senses will be well rewarded for doing so.
Conclusion: Tremendous build. I've been three times and still
haven't seen everything.
