Review: At the Bromley College Linden Script Tutorial school you will find a pretty comprehensive yet
quick set of lessons to learn scripting. The boards will give you the script on a note card. They give you good scripts a bit beyond the
basic freebies you find elsewhere which can be modified easily once you learn. It has more useful scripts but is not as in depth as the College
of Scripting, Music and Science set of tutorials. The building is large enough but not huge and is easy to get around and all the boards go
around the perimeter of the building on the walls and are easy to follow as well as short. There is a lot of ground covered in a short
time with these tutorials--they start from the very basics and cover enough to get one started at least modifying scripts. From fundamentals
to animations and media scripts there are many useful scripts here even if all you want to do is to mod them for your own use. All of
the panels are in a book form that you can purchase and rez whenever you need help. There are also 3 other books, much more advanced and for
serious scripters and a must for anyone with no programming experience looking to make their way in Second Life as a scripter.
The first of the three advanced books educates on structured design with linden script language(LSL) in mind and
the second has exercises to practice so you can hone your skills at using LSL to solve problems. The third book has a complete project
to bring your skills into use to help you understand the scope of the work you can do. The book with all the panels and the first of the advanced
books are 75L each.. The second and third advanced books are both 300L each, though you can read them on the wall at Bromley for free.
But the books do come with full perms to copy and transfer! So you can give them to folks in your group of builders or scripters or just to
friends and may be worth the investment.
Conclusion: A very useful scripting tutorial with very
useful scripts.
