Review:  Dysfunctional Dolly Designs can be an oddly misleading name, but it does strike a certain curiosity. That's what brought me there anyhow. I saw a Place's ad, and it struck me odd that a place with a name normally inspiring a Grim Dolls image in your head advertised Medieval items... I teleported there and was promptly greeted by a descriptive dialog menu telling me about the place. While reading it, a good portion of the place rezzed, only a few images were left grayed out or slightly fuzzy in the main room. The sim was already running on Havok4, which was nice. It really kept the lag to a minimum, plus there wasn't spammy particle generators, tons of scripts, or otherwise obnoxious items around.

The store used very little boxes, I think the only ones which were boxed were the large sets, but even the little pieces of it were out on display to be sold separately. I really enjoyed this because I could test everything out before I bought it, no disappointments there! I had been eye balling joining a Medieval RP themed sim for some time, and this store probably took me to the point that I had to. From the medieval kitchen, or servery pieces to the peasant-style furniture.. All of the items were really high quality, most had excellent animations, great textures, and some had nifty scripting, like the bed which had a sculpted blanket that would cover you when you laid in it.

During my visit to the main floor, Nyalee and Codered1200, the owners, teleported in. She (Nyalee) promptly asked how I was enjoying my visit and if there was anything I needed -- she was a real sweetheart and offered her services if I felt I needed them at any time. I remembered the teleporters, or rather saw them about that point. They're these big glowing balls of color in the middle of the room - very playful and interesting.. Something that prepared me for the next floor for sure. I clicked the first floor one, realizing I was probably on the first floor as I clicked it, cursed myself out before I realized.. Hey! This was a totally different world. Everything was sort of.. Alice in wonderland themed. Probably one of the coolest environments I've seen yet. One of the items that definitely hit my humour bone was the wiggling tongue chair, I bought one right away. Surprisingly, it was only 10L$... Another grace of their cheap items, but quality. I teleported to the second floor, finding a bunch of capes, a cute cuddle bed, and a mostly in development room. I was thankful for this, since I adored their items and was hoping to see more of them soon. Upon arriving on the third floor, which has it be, the main floor - Nyalee was just filling the freebie.. Doll.

Oh, I forgot about that. There's these giant black & White Dolls all over. When I asked, I was told they were 'a tribute to our namesake even though we serve a broadly different community then when we began.' She told me if I clicked it I could get the freebies. I thought this was an ingenious way to give out freebies, not just a spinny, glowing, silly little box. This doll was -huge- like 10m tall! The doll told me I had to join the group to get them, which to me wasn't a big problem. She told me I'd learn about when the freebies were updated to get more. I unpacked them right then & there, pleasantly surprised as to their quality. I got a cape which had a face-mask attachment, some fuzzy boots, 1 prim books, and other nifty items. From what I gather, whenever she retires items they go in here.

Overall, my experience at this store was phenomenal. The service was wonderful, the items were top quality, and the environment was really enjoyable.

Conclusion: I definitely recommend Dysfunctional Dolly Designs to anyone who wants Medieval, Rustic, or Gorean themed items.

Note From the Shop Owner Nyalee Mirrikh:

Dysfunctional Dolly Designs, is - in my opinion - an eclectic mismosh of Medieval and Fantasy items. All items are created with love, care, and best of all they're quality and affordable!  I primarily make furniture, specializing in kitchens. It's just something I love to do. Once in awhile when I am inspired I'll make an attachment, like a belt, bag, or other accessories.

I live for my customers, I spend all my time at my store, or building. I have excellent customer service, replacing inventory losses, adjusting for customers and prompt service, as well. I provide an email and an account to contact, and I am not offline for more than a day or two.  I enjoy socializing, greeting, and showing people around my store.  I'm an advocate of Second Life Relay for Life and often update my donation kiosk.

I'm also famous for my constant flow of Freebies! I believe quality freebies not only help the new people or those on a limited budget, but shows a designer is more than "money, money, money." My audience can also see my talent, and perhaps choose to support me at it! To get my freebies people have to join my store group, but they can leave after if they don't like my items, I wont force myself on them that much!
